Apache Tomcat 7.0.37 available

Published: 19/02/2013

Apache Tomcat 7.0.37 has been released on 18th Feb 2013, new release contains a small number of bug fixes and improvements compared to previous version 7.0.35. Apache Tomcat version 7.0.35 has been released with broken JspC tool that is used to pre-compile JSP pages. Please see issue 54440 in ASF Bugzilla for details. Apache Tomcat 7.0.37 fix the regression in the JspC tool introduced in 7.0.35.

Apache Tomcat 7.0.37 also improve handling of ciphers and sslEnabledProtocols options for the BIO and NIO connectors. The behaviour of each connector is now the same. The values provided are pruned to those supported by the SSL implementation and when none of the remaining values are supported a warning is issued and the connector configured with an empty set of options (which essentially disables HTTPS support). Tomcat 7.0.37 also has update to Commons Daemon 1.0.13.

Together with Apache Tomcat 7.0.37 release, we would like to announce that Tomcat version 7.0.35 is no longer available with our java hosting packages. Release of Tomcat version 7.0.36 has cancelled due to urgency of bugfixes for 7.0.35, so version 7.0.37 has been released instead. Fixes and improvements initially planned for Tomcat 7.0.36 has been moved to next versions (probably we can expect these done with Tomcat version 7.0.38 release).
